The general items of work include rehabilitation of existing tertiary filter equipment and structures, electrical system upgrades, and replacement of the filter equipment (media, underdrains, wash water assemblies) located at the City's Hill Canyon Treatment Plant. A. The Work consists of the following: 1. Mobilization/Demobilization. 2. Perform concrete spot repairs. 3. Replace influent valves, surface wash valves and actuators, and select filter waste washwater valves and actuators. 4. Replace filter media with anthracite and sand media in Filters 1-10. 5. Replace underdrains with Leopold HDPE underdrains in Filters 1-6. 6. Inspect underdrains in Filters 7-10 and replace as needed. a. Assume media removal to be done prior to Engineer's inspection. 7. Replace FRP troughs in Filters 1-6 with Leopold FRP troughs, including support assemblies. 8. Install concrete pad for Pulsair air compressor package. 9. Demolish existing surface wash piping from influent channel and filters. 10. Reroute and install new surface wash piping from surface wash pumps to Filters 1 through 10. 11. Remove and replace elastomeric linings in Filters 1-6. 12. Provide elastomeric lining in Filters 7-10. 13. Apply mortar/parge coating to the top concrete deck of Filters 1-6. 14. Replace all conduit, wiring, lighting, receptacles, and media level and turbidity transducers for Filters 1-10. 15. Remove and replace two surface wash pumps, associated valves and appurtenances. a. One surface wash pump must remain in operation at all times. 16. Replace rotating surface wash arms and nozzles in Filters 1-10. 17. Install new feeder buckets in MCC-5-1 and MCC-5-2 for Panels 1D1 and BPP-1A in the pipe gallery. 18. Install new electrical equipment for Filters 1 through 10. 19. Install new EchoSmart turbidity and media level instruments associated programming and manufacturer's field services. 20. Perform programming updates to 1-ACP-FLT1 and 1-ACP-FLT2 21. Provide new Pulsair air compressor package and compressed air valve manifold to supply existing pneumatic mixing system. 22. Demolish and replace select covers, frames, and gaskets. 23.
