Location: Holyoke Resurfacing and Related Work on Cabot Street and Race Street (Center City Connector) District: 2 Project Type: Highway - Construction Bidders must be pre-qualified by the Department in the Highway - Construction category to bid on the above project. An award will not be made to a Contractor who is not prequalified by the Department prior to the opening of Proposals. A Proposal Guaranty in the amount of 5% of the value of the bid is required. MADOT: Resurfacing and Related Work on Cabot Street and Race Street (Center City Connector) Labor participation goals for this Project shall be 15.3% for minorities and 6.9% for women for each job category. The goals are applicable to both Contractors and Subcontractors on-site construction workforce. Refer to Document 00820 for details The proposed project consists of roadway improvements for 1,705 feet of Cabot Street and 1,100 feet of Race Street in the City of Holyoke, Massachusetts. Along Cabot Street, the project begins at the intersection of Race Street and ends on Cabot Street approximately 100 feet before the intersection of North and South Canal Street. Along Race Street, the project begins at the intersection of Cabot Street and ends at the intersection of Appleton Street. The proposed improvements include traffic signal reconstruction and upgrades and geometric improvements to provide a consistent roadway cross section with street parking, bike lanes and AAB/ADA compliant sidewalks and pedestrian curb ramps, along Cabot Street. Race Street includes a consistent roadway cross section with street parking, a shared-use path along the canal and AAB/ADA compliant sidewalks and pedestrian curb ramps The work also includes constructing enhanced pedestrian crossings, raised intersection at Race and Spring Streets, bump-outs at intersections, cement concrete sidewalk and pedestrian curb ramps, an asphalt bike path, cement concrete driveways, drainage system improvements, water distribution system improvements, removal and resetting of granite curb, new granite curb, pavement markings, signs, landscaping and other incidental work. Cabot Street Beginning - Station 10+30.00 +/- Ending -Station 27+68.00 +/- Bridge H-21-013 Bridge H-21-008 Race Street Limit of Work -Station 111+12.44 +/- Question Deadline 10/07/2025 at 3:00 PM ET Prospective bidders are required to submit all questions to the Construction Contracts Engineer by 3:00 P.M. on the Tuesday of the previous week before the scheduled bid opening date. Any questions received after this time will not be considered for review by the Department.
