Bids are accepted for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and performing all work necessary and incidental to the construction of the project known as BUTLER BUILDING REROOFING PROJECT, Project No. 25-5565, according to drawings and specifications and according to the Contract Documents and other work not specifically mentioned herein, but which may be required as directed by the Engineer or his designated representative. General Description of Work: The work, in general, consists of removal and disposal of existing roofing material, dry rot repair and roofing as directed by the Engineer. The Engineer's Estimate for the base bid is $90,000. In accordance with Labor Code Section 1725.5 (with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code Section 1771.1(a)), no contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations. In accordance with provisions of California Public Contract Code Section 3300, the City has determined that the Contractor shall possess a valid Class A (General Engineering) or C-39 (Roofing) Contractor License at the time that the contract is awarded. The lowest bid shall be determined based on the lowest total of the bid prices on the base contract, without regard to alternate, additive or deductive bid items, for all responsive, responsible bidders. If the low bidderis determined to be non-qualified the City will then proceed to the second lowest bidder and review their qualifications. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids; to make any awards or any rejections in what it alone considers to be in the best interest of the City, and waive any informalities or minor irregularities in the bids.
