The project consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and performing all work necessary and incidental to the construction of the 2026 Dunaweal Wastewater Treatment Plant 20mg Effluent Storage Pond Relining Project. The work to be performed under this contract consists of the furnishing of all labor, materials, plant and equipment for the construction of 2026 DUNAWEAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT 20MG EFFLUENT STORAGE POND RELINING PROJECT, PROJECT NO. 26-5567 complete, and in satisfactory operating condition, all as shown on the Contract Documents and/or as specified herein. The base scope of work to be performed under this contract shall consist of, in general: mobilization; the cleaning out and disposal of sediment from the bottom of the 20 million gallon (MG) effluent storage pond at the Dunaweal Wastewater Treatment Plant, installation of a new liner on the 20 MG effluent storage pond on top of the existing liner; the installation of a new chain link fence around the pond; the installation of new life preservers; installation of liner stair rungs to the adjacent Equalization Pond; daily cleanup; and furnishing of all labor, materials, tools, equipment, mechanical workmanship, transportation, and services necessary in order to perform a complete job in all aspects as indicated in the Contract Documents, and by reference made a part hereof, as specified herein, and as directed by the Engineer. The alternate scope of work shall consist of the same scope of work as the base scope, with the exception of a white HDPE liner in conformance with the project Specifications instead of a black HDPE liner. The Dunaweal Wastewater Treatment Plant is located at 1100 Dunaweal Lane in the City of Calistoga. INSPECTION OF SITE OF WORK Bidders may inspect the site of the work in order to satisfy themselves, by personal examination or by such other means as they may prefer, of the location of the proposed work and the actual conditions of and at the site. Bidders may apply to the Engineer for additional information and explanation before submitting bids. However, no supplemental information requested or furnished shall vary the terms of the Contract Documents or affect the Contractor's sole responsibility to satisfy itself as to the conditions of the work to be performed. No claim for additional compensation will be allowed which is based upon a lack of knowledge of the actual conditions or location of the Work. Submission of a proposal by the bidder shall constitute acknowledgment that, if awarded the contract, the bidder has relied and is relying on their own examination of (a) the site of the work; (b) access to the site; and (c) all other data, matters, and things requisite to the fulfillment of the work, including but not limited to the availability of labor and materials and on their own knowledge of existing facilities on and in the vicinity of the site of the work to be constructed under the contract, and not on any representation or warranty of knowledge of the above items. Removal, relocation, or protection of existing public utilities not identified by the City shall be done in conformance with Section 4215 of the Government Code.
