Proposed Water Main Improvements This project is a water main replacement project along the entire lengths of Ann Street and Elm Street, and a partial length of Lakeside Avenue in the Borough of Bloomingdale. The existing 6" cast iron and 8" transite water main piping will be replaced with 8" ductile iron water main piping throughout. Some work will take place in Glenwild Avenue, a Passaic County Right-of-Way. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to: installation of new 8" diameter ductile iron water main, including new services and new fire hydrants. The main items of construction and approximate quantities include but are not necessarily limited to: 1,975 linear feet of 8" diameter ductile iron water main pipe, Class 52; forty (40) water services, 3/4"; three (3) fire hydrant assemblies with branch tee and valves; and, 500 tons of hot mix asphalt, six (6) inches thick, mix 19M 64. No bids will be accepted after the date and time designated to receive bids. A bid may be withdrawn prior to the time for opening of bids or authorized postponement thereof upon written application of the Bidder who shall be required to produce evidence showing that individual is or represents the principal or principals involved in the bid. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after bids have been opened. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Guarantee in an amount of the lesser of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price or Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00), in the form of a certified check or cashier's check payable to the Borough or a Bid Bond issued by a Surety authorized to transact business in New Jersey and found acceptable by the Borough. Each bid must also be accompanied by the consent of a similarly acceptable Surety, guaranteeing a one hundred percent (100%) Performance Bond and a one hundred percent (100%) Labor and Material Payment Bond will be furnished upon award of the Contract. No bids will be accepted after the date and time designated to receive bids. The Borough reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities, deviations or omissions in any or all bids, and to accept such bids and make awards as may be most advantageous to the Borough. All bids must conform to the models and directions contained in the Specifications.
