Sealed Bids will be received for the Toilet Room Renovations at the Walter T. Bergen Middle School, 225 Glenwild Avenue, Bloomingdale, New Jersey, together with all work incidental thereto, in accordance with the requirements of the drawings and specifications prepared by the designated architect and engineer. This is for a single overall contract and all work incidental thereto. Bids must be submitted on the provided Proposal Forms, enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the bidder's name, address, and the Proposal Identification Number. Each bid must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond for not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid amount, not to exceed twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00). A Certificate of Consent of Surety must also be submitted, stating that the surety company will provide the required Performance/Payment Bond. Bidders and relevant subcontractors must be prequalified and classified by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction in C008: General Construction or C009: General Construction/Alterations and Additions. All applicable Federal, State, and Municipal Laws, Ordinances, Rules, and Regulations apply. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive informalities. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. Bidding will be in accordance with Public School Contract Laws and related statutes. Bidders and their subcontractors must be registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor, and proof of registration must be provided. Proof of registration with the State of New Jersey, Department of Treasury, Division of Revenue, is also required. Provide cutting and patching work to properly complete the work of the project, complying with project requirements for: 1. Removing the existing doors for the Toilet Room construction. Where necessary, cut and patch the existing door frames to receive new doors. Cut and patch the existing floors and walls in order to modify the existing plumbing fixtures and pipes. 2. Visual requirements, including detailing and tolerances. 3. Operational and safety limitations. 4. Inspection, preparation, and performance. 5. Cleaning. Selective Demolition: 1. Maintain all existing Life Safety items, such as Fire Alarm System throughout the demolition process and throughout the new construction. 2. Remove existing ceramic floor tile. Prepare floor for new ceramic tile. 3. Remove and replace the existing door and protect the existing door frame. Do not damage the existing door frame and components. 4. Selective demolition of existing floor and walls to receive new piping and new fixtures as designated on the Contract Drawings. 5. Remove existing lay-in panel ceilings and exposed metal suspension system. 6. Remove the existing light fixtures and protect existing wiring. 7. Protection of building components adjacent to or affected by selective demolition. 8. Pollution control during selective demolition, including noise control. 9. Removal and legal disposal of materials. 10. Modify existing plumbing components. 11. Modify existing electrical components. 12. Modify existing piping for new cabinet heater.
