Lakeland Electric, a division of the City of Lakeland, is seeking qualified contractors to furnish and install a replacement exhaust expansion joint assembly for the McIntosh GT2 Simple Cycle Gas Turbine. The project involves removing the existing expansion joint soft parts, supplying and installing new components, and completing all associated work necessary to return the unit to service-ready condition. 1.2 Summary The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, materials, and equipment to complete the replacement of one (1) GT exhaust expansion joint. This includes: Removal of the existing joint hardware. Installation of a new composite fabric expansion joint set. Inspection of adjacent components. Proper torquing of all fasteners. All work must be performed in accordance with industry standards, OEM specifications, and Lakeland Electric's safety procedures. Any repairs identified beyond the defined scope shall be performed only upon written authorization from Lakeland Electric, on a time-and-materials (T&M) basis. Background The McIntosh GT2 Unit is a simple cycle gas turbine generator used for peaking operations within Lakeland Electric's generation fleet. The exhaust expansion joint is critical to maintaining unit reliability by absorbing thermal growth and vibration while preventing gas leakage. The existing expansion joint soft parts set has reached the end of its service life and requires replacement to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the unit. McI GT2 has a nominal rating of 120 MW's with a heat rate of 9,900 Btu/KWh operating on Natural Gas. The average exhaust gas temperature at full load is <1,050_F.
