Renovation of a water / sewer project in Sandy, Utah. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
JVWCD desires to receive bids to perform the removal, rehabilitation, and reinstallation of one 800hp 4160V motor. The Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District (JVWCD) desires to receive bids to perform the removal (including unwiring), rehabilitation, and reinstallation (including rewiring) of one (1) 800hp 4160 V motor from one of its Wells. SITE OF WORK: The location of the Well House is 8148 South 1330 East Sandy City, Utah. The Contractor shall execute the work described herein. The motor has experienced an increase in vibration and bearing noise, the windings are believed to be in good shape, the motor should not require a rewind. The JVWCD desires to have a qualified motor repair firm inspect and rebuild the motor. This work shall include all recommended practices included in the EASA Standard AR100-2020 Recommended Practice for the Repair of Rotating Electrical Apparatus. Rebuilding the motor will include all necessary components that are identified during the inspection that need to be replaced to bring the motor within specifications when the motor was new. The Owner shall be notified by the contractor when the motor is disassembled. The Owner shall be allowed to visit, review, and discuss findings with the motor repair firm while the motor is disassembled. Reconditioning of the motor shall include but not be limited to: Replacement of the upper and lower motor bearings. Machine work on the bearing housings as needed. Insulation coating the windings and balancing of the rotor. If replacement of the windings is required, the contractor shall notify the owner and set up a meeting with the motor repair shop, owner, and themselves to review and discuss the findings before proceeding with repairs. The exterior color of the motor coating shall be the same as the existing motor color before repairs were performed.
