As of November 13, 2025, bids were rejected. No definite date for the rebid. The County of Tuolumne through its Health & Human Services Agency ("County") is seeking bids from qualified firms to convert current office space at 20111 Cedar Road N, Sonora, CA adjacent to the current Public Health Department offices into Ambulance living quarters, offices, and training space. These services must be provided for a six (6) months term, with the option of two (2) three (3) month extensions. Said services must meet all applicable Federal, State and/or Local regulations. The payment of prevailing wages is required. Prior to award of the contract, the Contractor shall possess a Class B (General) Contractor's License issued by the State of California Contractor's Licensing Board. Failure of the bidder to obtain the required license before award of the contract constitutes a failure to execute the contract. The Contractor and any subcontractors shall be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations. The County maintains multiple ambulance stations strategically located throughout its jurisdictions to ensure optimal emergency response times. In March 2024, the Board of Supervisors approved the purchase of the real property located at 20111 Cedar Road North in Sonora utilizing Ambulance Enterprise funds. A portion of the existing commercial office building will be remodeled into an ambulance station to house at least two (2) ambulance crews, and must include all of the expected residential amenities. This project consists of electrical, plumbing, framing, flooring and HVAC installation or modifications at 20111 Cedar Road North. The project also involves construction of a carport and exterior stairs, as well as fencing and restriping of an existing parking lot. All plans, specifications, and supporting documents are uploaded as attachments to this invitation for bids. Permits and approved plans have been issued and funding for this project is reserved. This project includes partial alteration of the office building purchased by Tuolumne County Ambulance Service, located at 20111 Cedar Road North, Sonora, CA 95370 to incorporate an ambulance station within the existing footprint which also houses the Public Health Department. Interior modifications will include but are not limited to new offices, conference/training rooms, a dayroom, kitchen, laundry room, sleeping rooms, and storage/support spaces. New information technology (IT) infrastructure, including network cabling, audio/visual equipment pathways, wireless access, badge access control, radio and phone communications will also be installed. Exterior improvements include but are not limited to ADA upgrades, a new shade trellis, the replacement of rotting exterior wood stairs, and a backup generator to power the entire building. A portion of the on-site parking will be re-striped to include a new carport for the Ambulance and Public Health vans. Additionally, the project includes re-striping and fencing a portion of the existing parking lot on the County's adjacent parcel (044-420-041). The digital portal records the time stamp for every Bid properly submitted in the system. Once a Bid is submitted electronically, the Bidder will receive an email confirmation, and the Bid status will show as "Submitted." Such award, if made, will be made within sixty (60) days after the opening of the bids, unless an extension is agreed to by the lowest responsible bidder. The award of the contract will be subject to the availability of funds. The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities in the bidding. Contractors may not withdraw their bids for a period of sixty (60) days after the date on which the bids are due. The selected Contractor shall be required to sign the County Agreement, a sample of which is attached to this IFB. Submit one of the following forms of bidder's security equal to at least ten (10) percent of the bid: Cash Cashier's check Certified check Signed bidder's bond by an admitted surety insurer Bid bonds shall be underwritten by an admitted surety. The County reserves the right to determine the acceptability of the surety. A payment bond and performance bond are required for any public works contract in excess of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000). These bonds must be received before the contract is finalized. A maintenance warranty bond for the repair and/or replacement of any defects or failures occurring within one (1) year of contract execution is required. The Agreement term shall be for a period of six (6) months. County may, at its option and upon Contractor's concurrence, extend the term for a period of not more than two (2) three (3) month terms, or until said services are no longer required, whichever is sooner.
