Renovation of an office development in San Diego, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade office development.
Proposals are requested for the design and construction of the GMCS Elevator Modernization Project. The contractor shall design and build the project and present the completed project to the trustees for approval and acceptance. The elevator portion of the specification in Article D is not considered design-build, except for Article D Part 2 “products” Item 2.2 Subitem JJ “alternate 3”, which requires subcontracting for electrical, fire alarm, and sprinkler work. The contractor may work with their own approved electrical vendor and must work with the campus fire alarm vendor, Johnson Controls Fire Protection LP, to prepare the exact scope of work as defined in Article D, Item 1.1 Subitem C. The project must meet maximum cost, design objectives, and minimum acceptable standards of construction. Additional details and the scope of work related to the equipment to be modernized are provided in Article D. Only contractors licensed in California with a C-11 license and registered with the DIR are eligible to bid. Each proposer is responsible for obtaining a proposal package in sufficient time to meet requirements.
