The Henderson Community College Elevator Upgrades project is being undertaken to extend the life of the existing elevators in the Administration Building (1990s) and the Hartfield Library (1970s), both of which are near the end of their operational life and in need of constant/consistent maintenance and repair. The scope of work entails operational equipment upgrades, including pumps, controllers, door equipment, operating panels, rollers, clutch, interlocks, and closers. Materials, labor, tools, and testing to bring the elevators up to current building codes is to be included. Also included in the scope of work are cosmetic upgrades to the elevator cabs, including wall panels, flooring, and ceiling/lighting replacement. Estimated Length of Project: 180 (Substantial Completion) + 30 (Final Completion) All bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee (in the form of a bid bond or certified check) of not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the lump sum base bid. A 100% Performance Bond and a separate 100% Payment Bond shall be furnished by the successful bidder. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instructions to Bidders and/or General Conditions. Bonds should be executed by a surety company authorized to do business by the Kentucky Secretary of State and the Kentucky Department of Insurance within the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The Kentucky Community & Technical College System reserves the right to reject all bids and to waive all informalities and/or technicalities where the best interest of the Commonwealth may be served. Question Deadline 10/13/2025 All questions regarding the meaning or interpretation of the Bidding Documents shall be directed in writing to the Capital Procurement Officer. Questions received less than ten (10) calendar days prior to the date for receipt of Bids may not be answered.
