Site work and paving for a road / highway in Chester, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade road / highway.
The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials, and means to construct various improvements for the Perry and Warren Street Resurfacing project as depicted in the contract documents. The principal items of work include: mobilization, site clearing, installation of drums, breakaway barricades, traffic cones, construction signs, provision of a traffic director/flagger, HMA milling, placement of HMA 9.5M64 surface course, curb piece installation, resetting existing inlet castings, traffic marking lines and symbols, and allowances for fuel and asphalt price adjustments. Bids must be submitted in the bound project document book, intact in every respect, enclosed in an opaque, sealed envelope plainly marked "PERRY AND WARREN STREET RESURFACING" with the bidder's name and address. Bids may be mailed, with the sealed envelope further enclosed in another properly addressed envelope. Delivery or non-delivery of documents or bids is the sole responsibility of the bidder. Bidders must comply with New Jersey Local Public Contracts Law and the Public Works Contractors Registration Act. All bids must be accompanied by a bid guarantee (certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond) for at least 10% of the bid amount (not to exceed $20,000), a certificate from a surety company guaranteeing performance and payment bonds (each not less than 100% of the total bid), a statement of corporate ownership, listing of subcontractors, notarized non-collusion affidavit, notarized bidder's affidavit, acknowledgment of receipt of changes to bid documents, and bid document submission checklist. Bidders are also required to comply with equal employment opportunity and affirmative action regulations, submit an initial project manning report within three days of being awarded the contract, and adhere to prevailing wage rates and safety regulations. A maintenance bond is required prior to acceptance of the work. The project is partially funded by the New Jersey Department of Transportation's Local Aid Program. Bids cannot be withdrawn for sixty days after opening. The Borough reserves the right to waive defects, reject any or all bids, and reject any bids exceeding available appropriations. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
