A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The CITY OF LAKELAND is seeking bids from a qualified manufacturer to design, manufacture, deliver and install a system for two (2) travelling screens that meet all requirements of the "Best Technology Available" per the terms of 316(b) of the Clean Water Act in place of two currently existing non-compliant screens. The Screens will be installed at the Larsen Power Plant, 2002 US-92, Lakeland, FL 33801 to supply the cooling water pumps from Lake Parker. The Screens are needed to replace the existing non-compliant travelling screen system with a new system that meets the requirements for "Best Available Technology" as defined by Section 316(b) of the Clean Water Act and meets 125.92(s). The proposed screens must fit in the existing cooling water intake structure without requiring modification to the structure and must be suitable to provide adequate flow to the existing cooling water pumps, which have a combined flow rate of approximately 34,400 gpm.
