Contractor agrees to provide to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) all labor, tools, materials, equipment, supplies, parts, fees, permits, travel, disposal fees, and incidentals necessary for the replacement for 12 commercial-grade roll-up doors and operators. an estimated value of greater than $5,000.00, but not more than $461,000.00 Q&A: 10/16/25 5:00 p.m. Questions regarding this IFPQ must be submitted in writing. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. A. Contractor shall remove 12 existing commercial-grade steel roll-up door assemblies and replace with 12 new roll-up insulated Steel Sectional Overhead Doors, complete with all related hardware and the following features: 1) Vents at the bottom of the door 2) Windows at eye level 3) Insulated 4) Commercial-grade operators 5) 24 to 26 gauge (Minimum thickness required) insulated steel sections with backed enamel finish 6) Color shall be white 7) Steel galvanized "J" track and hardware 8) Galvanized steel aircraft grade cables 9) Precision engineered springs for dependable, long-lasting operation 10) Steel ball bearing safety rollers 11) Weather-strip on the bottom of the door for proper seal B. Door opening dimensions are approximately: 1) Eight (8) doors at 14' 8" wide, by 14' 4" tall 2) Four (4) doors at 13' 4" wide, by 14' 4" tall C. Contractor shall perform field measurements for all steps below prior to installations. D. The exterior wall is a cinder block type of construction, and the existing door anchor points are failing in some areas. Some anchor points will need to be repaired or relocated. E. Contractor shall furnish and install chain hoist motor operators with safety photo eyes with the following features: 1) Liftmaster Maxum model JHDC12X4BMC or industry standard equivalent approved by Caltrans Contract Manager with heavy-duty operators with built-in battery backup. 2) Floor-level chain hoist with electrical interlock for emergency manual door operation 3) 3-Button control station (with open/close/stop controls) 4) High starting torque continuous-duty motor with overload protection 5) 24 circuit HVAC control for safety 6) Adjustable friction clutch to prevent damage if the door is obstructed 7) Limit switch to stop the door at the open/close position 8) Self-locking drive mechanism F. Contractor shall connect new door systems to existing power and control wiring. G. All doors shall include either pneumatic safety reversing strip edges, or an electronically monitored reversing edge system. H. Contractor shall remove and legally dispose of all existing equipment service doors, existing motors, and existing accessories. All costs associated with the legal disposal shall be included in unit prices on Price Quote Proposal, Attachment 1. I. Contractor shall ensure service doors are removed and replaced according to manufacturer's guidelines and industry standards. 1. Contractor agrees to provide to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) all labor, tools, materials, equipment, supplies, parts, fees, permits, travel, disposal fees, and incidentals necessary to remove and legally dispose of 12 roll-up door assemblies and operators and furnish and install 12 new commercial grade roll-up door assemblies and operators as described herein. 2. Subcontracting is not permitted under this Agreement. All references to subcontracting or Subcontractors as found herein are not applicable to this Agreement. 3. These services shall be performed at Caltrans District 32 Equipment Shop located at 120 Rickard Street, San Francisco, CA 94134, in San Francisco County. 4. Any reference to Caltrans Contract Manager will also include their designee. 5. This Agreement will commence on December 1, 2025 (Est.), or upon approval by Caltrans, whichever is later, and no work shall begin before that time. This Agreement shall have no force or effect unless it is approved in writing by Caltrans. Contractor shall not receive payment for work performed prior to the effective date of the Agreement and before receipt of notice to proceed by Caltrans Contract Manager. This Agreement will expire on November 30, 2026 (Est.). The services shall be provided during the working hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except State holidays. The parties may amend this Agreement as permitted by law.
