1. Refer to the campus map and spreadsheet attachments for the mowing expectations required in specific areas. (Note: small area on Honeysuckle Dr. to be mowed) 2. All trash, pinecones, leaves, sticks, and other debris are to be removed from the site during each site visit. 3. All sidewalks, curbs, base of trees and plants will be edged at the time of mowing and at the same intervals. 4. All drains, manhole covers, utility box lids, etc. will be edged as needed to maintain a manicured appearance. 5. Fence lines shall be trimmed with a string trimmer and neatly maintained. Herbicides may be used only if approved by Director of Facilities. 6. Walkways are to be blown off and left with a neat, clean appearance. Any loose mulch shall be blown or swept back to adjacent bed spaces and all bed lines kept with crisp, clean edges wherever they meet adjacent grass or hard surfaces. 7. All bed areas around the campus will be maintained in a neat and clean presentation. The area must be free of weeds and other debris. All shrubbery will be pruned as needed to prevent an overgrown appearance. Pine straw will be provided by the college to the contractor for these areas. A chemical application plan for these areas must be submitted to the Director of Facilities prior to any chemicals being applied. 8. Tree Limbs must be trimmed at a height of 10' over sidewalks and parking lots. Some limbs may need to be trimmed higher than 10' to allow for mowing operations around trees. Tree limbs should be trimmed in a manner that preserves and maintains the health of the tree. Any additional tree trimming or tree removal must be approved in advance by a designated GSC representative. 9. The Contractor is expected to assess maintenance needs in all areas at every required visit. Turf maintenance will not always require mowing, weed eating, or edging all areas every week. If an area does not need maintenance, contact the Director of Facilities and submit written documentation with supporting pictures prior to leaving the job site for that week. Landscaping and grounds maintenance services are to be provided to Gordon State College. The objective is to establish a contract with one or more qualified suppliers to deliver lawn and ground maintenance on the Barnesville campus for one year, with four optional one-year renewals at the college's discretion. Suppliers are expected to meet all specifications and delivery requirements as outlined. Bidders must comply with instructions, provide general business and contact information, adhere to state regulations regarding immigration and business operations, and respond to specific questions regarding business status (such as small business, veteran-owned, minority-owned, or women-owned status). Suppliers are required to address contract terms, delivery and insurance requirements, tax compliance, and preferences for resident Georgia businesses.
