The scope of work entails maintenance, repair, replacement and/or installation of new terrazzo flooring at Miami International Airport (MIA) and the General Aviation Airports, including Miami-Opa-locka Executive Airport (OPF), Miami Executive Airport (TMB), Miami Homestead G.A. Airport (X51), and the Training Airports at Opa-locka West (OPW) and Dade-Collier Training and Transition (TNT), as well as Cargo Buildings. Work includes application of maintenance coats, polishing, fill-in penetrations in terrazzo floor matching existing color and texture, repair of cracks, removal and replacement of existing flooring systems with new terrazzo flooring systems, and related work as directed. The new epoxy matrix terrazzo system shall be 3/8" in thickness. Floor leveling, anti-crack/anti-fracture suppressant membranes, waterproofing vapor barriers for certain replacements, and construction enclosures and protections are required as detailed in work orders. The majority of work shall be performed at night to minimize impact on business operations, and all work must comply with manufacturer requirements, applicable specifications, and MDAD Design Guidelines. Contractors must self-perform all terrazzo-related work, be certified by the terrazzo manufacturer, demonstrate relevant experience, and meet specific qualifications, including experience at similar facilities and in preparation and implementation of Movement of Traffic plans. Bidders must base their pricing on unit prices established on the Schedule of Prices Supplemental Bid Form and submit it along with their bid. Unit costs must be all-inclusive. The contractor shall submit required shop drawings, catalog cut-sheets, and samples, and maintain construction drawings on site reflecting all changes. Bidders must attend a mandatory pre-bid conference call and site visit, and requests for information must comply with the Cone of Silence procedures. Failure to comply with bid submission instructions, including required forms or conference participation, will result in the bid being considered non-responsive. No subcontracting of terrazzo work is permitted. Question Deadline 11/05/2025 The deadline for submittal of questions and/or RFIs is no less than five (5) working days before the RPQ bid due/opening date and time. RFIs shall be submitted to the MDAD PM with a copy to the Clerk of the Board (clerkbcc@miamidade.gov)
