Oral responses are not authorized and are not binding on the City. The bid price must include all costs to perform the work as specified, including all labor, material, supplies, and equipment, as well as all other direct or indirect costs such as applicable taxes, insurance, and overhead. Prospective bidders must attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting and site-walk in person as a condition to bidding. General Description: The City of Redwood City (City) Public Works Services (PWS) Department requires gym floor re-striping services. The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete gym floor re-striping services in accordance with industry standards, safety regulations, and manufacturer specifications. All work shall be performed to ensure a durable, professional, and visually consistent finish as outlined in Appendix A. Project Schedule: The Project must be fully completed between the dates of December 22, 2025, and January 4, 2026. This project timeline is non-negotiable. Work on City observed holidays and weekends shall only be performed with City's prior approval in writing. Description of Lump Sum (LS) Item: Surface Preparation o Inspect the existing gym floor surface prior to work. o Clean and prepare the floor to remove dirt, dust, grease, and any debris. o Sand the entire floor surface in Project Area. o Protect adjacent surfaces, walls, and equipment from dust, overspray, or paint spills. Layout & Design o Striping layout shall be applied as indicated in project drawings. A digital striping plan/layout drawing and color selection submittal shall be submitted by Contractor to City for approval prior to work being performed. o Provide clear marking for the following courts and markings to be consistent with As-Built Layout: o Basketball court (main and auxiliary if applicable). o Volleyball court(s). o Badminton court(s). o Pickleball court(s). o Any additional specialty markings (logos, lettering, custom graphics). Striping Application o Use high-quality, gym floor-approved paint specifically designed for wood/urethane surfaces. o Apply paint in multiple coats as necessary. o Ensure crisp, straight, and consistent lines with no bleeding. o Allow sufficient drying/curing time between coats and prior to application of protective finish. Quality Assurance o Conduct a walkthrough with City staff to inspect line placement, dimensions, and quality. o Correct any deficiencies identified during inspection. Finish & Sealing o After striping, apply an appropriate clear coat finish water-based polyurethane, as specified. o Ensure the finish is compatible with the striping paint and provides a protective, slip-resistant surface.Provide adequate curing time per manufactures' recommendations. Cleanup o Remove all equipment, materials, and protective coverings. o Leave work area clean and ready for use. Deliverables o Written warranty on workmanship and materials (minimum 1 year). o Care and maintenance recommendations for the gym floor.
