The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is soliciting qualifications from Architectural firms to provide design services for renovations to the main level lobby area of the Fleischmann Planetarium Building. Improvements include new gift shop, new reception area, flooring, paint, sound system, electrical system, lighting, graphics, signage, furniture and displays/exhibits. The Men's and Women's restrooms will have improvements of flooring, paint and minor ADA upgrades. The scope also includes flooring upgrades at the theater level outside of the dome and an ADA ramp from the theater level to the lower level. A small area on the exterior of the north side of the building will have some landscaping renovations. The estimated construction cost is in the $750,000 to $800,000 range. This effort is identified as project number 25RNV03397. The anticipated services that are to be included in the winning consultant's contract include the following: o Review of the proposed new floor plan to ensure code compliance and functionality. o Schematic, design development, and construction documents, bidding and construction administration services. o FF&E layout and item selection. o Budget and cost information. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Fleischmann Planetarium Lobby Renovations include the following: Lobby - Remove existing flooring and replace with Terrazzo with a Milky Way or Constellation theme, paint walls, paint ceiling, modify existing soffit, reception desk, monitors at desk, donor wall at top of stairs, sound system, lighting, LED adaptable lighting, projector for dome, projector for upper wall, projector for ceiling, graphics, signage, furniture and displays/exhibits. Gift Shop - Convert Office 5 to Gift Shop, remove existing flooring and replace with Terrazzo, wall modifications, roll up door, paint walls, remove texture on ceiling and paint ceiling, lighting, retail displays/shelving. Womens - Remove existing flooring and replace with tile, paint walls and ceiling, ADA upgrades (minor modifications). Mens - Remove existing flooring and replace with tile, paint walls and ceiling, ADA upgrades (minor modifications). Theater Level Louvers - Monitors at louvers (6 anticipated). Theater Level Floor (outside dome) - Remove existing flooring and replace with Terrazzo. Ramp from Lower Level to Theater Level at east side of building. General upgrades - Electrical System, power outlets, WiFi. Landscaping Renovations - modifications to landscaping around entry area north side of building. See attached photos. Upgrade entire cresent shaped area to include some seating/benches, new plants, irrigations, etc.
