The work required includes, but is not limited to, the installation of connector pipe screens portwide, covering multiple locations in Pier A, Pier B, Pier C, Pier D, Pier F, Pier G, Pier J, Pier S, and Pier T. The contractor must provide traffic control as needed at all installation locations. Contract documents must be downloaded, at no cost, and bidders must register as a vendor on the designated system to view documents, be added to the prospective bidders list, and receive addendum notifications. All questions about the contract documents must be submitted electronically via the specified system by the set deadline. Attendance at the mandatory pre-bid meeting is required for contractors and highly recommended for subcontractors; failure to attend disqualifies the bid. The contractor must perform at least 30% of the contract work with its own employees, with any designated specialty items allowed to be subcontracted. Bidders must hold a valid Class A California contractors license. The project is subject to the Small Business Enterprises/Very Small Business Enterprises Program, with a twenty percent combined participation goal, requiring a commitment plan or demonstration of a good faith effort. Prevailing wage rates apply, and compliance monitoring will be enforced. Bids must include bid security of at least ten percent of the base bid.
