Renovation of a swimming pool in North Haven, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade swimming pool.

The Town of North Haven invites qualified and responsible contractors to submit sealed bids for the Town of North Haven Structural Repairs - North Haven Pool Roof Project, Project No. 26-01. Bids must be received at the Department of Finance and Administration Office, Town Hall Annex Building, 5 Linsley Street, Lower Level, North Haven, Connecticut, 06473, by 10:00 a.m. E.S.T. on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at which time they will be opened and publicly read aloud. Plans and Bid Specifications can be obtained from the Town of North Haven's website. Submitted bids will be analyzed for responsiveness and compliance with requirements. The Town will consider past performance, financial responsibility, quality of work, and service experience before awarding the bid. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive defects, or choose a vendor based on the best interest of the Town. Bidders are advised of an Ordinance concerning Bid Preference for Town-Based Businesses. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project. The General Description and project specifications apply to the structural repairs needed for the North Haven Pool Roof cold formed steel purlins, which were observed during a recent insulated roofing replacement project undertaken by the Town in Fall 2024 through Spring 2025. This work includes, but may not be limited to, addressing areas of top flange and web damage, areas of top flange and web damage at the purlin splice, full depth repairs at the CMU, and bottom flange damage at the walls. Approximately twenty-seven (27) locations needing structural repairs have been identified by the Town's Professional Structural Engineer, Fuss & O'Neill. The Contractor's responsibility shall include all labor, materials, equipment and tools necessary to fully perform the project in accordance with the Contract Documents, including but in no way limited to, maintaining overall site conditions, maintenance and protection of areas of work, supplying, installing, and maintaining protective tarps or covers over pool decking (tiled areas) and finishes and/or the inground pool itself, supplying, installing, and maintaining protective tarps over office glass, the timeclock, bleachers and spectator areas, removal, and disposal of any/all debris, paint chips and steel fibers generated from the work, and reestablishment of surface conditions. All work shall conform to the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) Specifications and its Code of Standard Practice, the Connecticut Building Code and the industry standard of care. The Contractor shall notify the Structural Engineer of any fabrication or erection errors or deviations and shall receive written approval before any field corrections are made. All questions regarding the above solicitation for Bid shall be submitted in writing only to BOTH Richard Monico, Director of Administration and Procurement at monico.richard@northhavenct.gov AND Lynn K. Sadosky, P.E., Grants Administrator at sadosky.lynn@northhaven-ct.gov. All questions regarding the Bid Specifications and Plans referred to as Structural Repairs - North Haven Pool Roof Project, North Haven, Project No. 26-01 shall be submitted in writing and on or before 2:00 P.M. E.S.T. on Thursday, October 30, 2025. The Scope of Work shall include, but shall not be limited to, the following: 1. Submission of electronic submittals of shop or working drawings and proposed connections, anchors and other products as noted in the specifications, of equipment, structural details and materials fabricated for this Contract. Submission of samples in individual Contract Sections and Operating and Maintenance Manuals and spare parts lists. 2. Environmental Protection, including collection of debris from paint scraping and other construction activity from damaging or contaminating the pool or pool deck. Protection of water resources. Protecting and minimizing exposed areas and landscape. 3. Earthwork and related work, including loaming and seeding to repair any site features damaged by transportation of materials or waste. This includes protection of existing property, drainage, frost protection and snow removal. 4. Other items, including General Conditions, site restoration, mobilization and demobilization are included in the Contract. 5. As work under this Contract progresses, the Contractor may identify additional structural steel members that may need to be replaced, repaired and/or restored. Contractors shall provide a Lump Sum price for the designated work in compliance with the Plan as prepared by Fuss & O'Neill Engineers AND a Unit Price for additional work in lineal feet for steelrelated work and/or in square feet for paint related work, should that work be identified. The Contractor shall not conduct or complete any additional Unit Price work, without prior approval from the Town of North Haven in writing.
