The purpose of this RFP is to solicit competitive proposals from qualified contractors for the design, construction, and installation of three (3) traffic control gates Questions Due Date: Oct 13th 2025, 12:30 PM MDT Project Scope Milford Elementary School (hereinafter the School) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors for the design, construction, and installation of three (3) traffic control gates. These gates are intended to improve student and pedestrian safety by blocking vehicle traffic on the main roadway during designated student drop-off and pick-up times. 1 Each gate must be a swing-out design, capable of swinging into the roadway to effectively block traffic. 2 The gates must have a durable locking mechanism in both the open (gate against the curb/sidewalk) and closed (gate blocking the road) positions. This ensures the gates remain securely in place. Gates would need to be padlocked in the open position. 3 The design should be suitable for manual operation by school staff. 4 The gates must be constructed from a durable, weather-resistant material. 5 The installation must not interfere with existing pedestrian walkways, drainage systems, or snowplow operations. 6 All gates must be clearly visible and equipped with appropriate reflective striping as per local and state traffic regulations. 7 Gates will need to have an area to place signs on them. North Gate: Detour with an arrow pointing east. East gate would need One Way with an arrow pointing South (left) and the South Gate would also need a road closed, detour sign. The contractor is responsible for buying and attaching these signs to the gates.
