Site work for a development in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Completed plans call for site work for a development.

PROJECT LOCATION: The Project is located along approximately 4.5 miles of the Stillwater Ditch (Ditch), starting approximately 0.25 miles downstream of Yamcolo Reservoir outlet, Garfield and Routt Counties Colorado. A. The location of the work is: Stillwater Ditch, starting approximately 0.25 miles downstream of Yamcolo Reservoir outlet, Garfield County Colorado. From the Town of Yampa, southwest on CO Rd 7 and Forest Road 900 for about 11 miles. This is the start of the Stillwater Ditch. Access to the Stillwater Ditch can also be made from the intersection of Forest Road 900 to Forest Road 910. Once on Forest Road 910, travel about 1 mile to intersection with Stillwater Ditch. This is approximately 1 mile downstream on the Stillwater Ditch. B. The work includes furnishing all labor, tools, materials, equipment, transportation, and services required for completion of the above project. The Work generally includes: The Project work includes cutting and slash management extending approximately 110 feet downslope (north) of the Ditch and 890 feet upslope (south) of the Ditch. The total width of the treatment area will not exceed 1,000 feet at any point. The treatment includes canopy spacing, ladder fuel removal, and group selection or "patch cuts". Treatments are specific to distance from the edge of both sides of the Ditch and include prescriptions for: Zone 1: 0-10 feet from the edge of the Ditch, Area = 8 Acres. Zone 2: 10-110 feet from the edge of the Ditch, Area = 70 Acres. Zone 3: 110 feet from the edge of the Ditch and continuing upslope, Area = 214 Acres. Priority Bid - The Priority Bid is detailed in the Priority Bid Schedule and is the scope of the project that will be awarded in 2025, pending the finalization of expected USFS project activity authorization. The primary goal of the Project is to minimize post-fire impacts to the Ditch, which can include in-stream erosion, debris flow, excessive downstream erosion, and sedimentation. By reducing forest fuels incrementally upslope from and in proximity to the Ditch, wildfire intensity may be reduced, resulting in a reduced magnitude of post-fire impacts. The fuel reduction will primarily target the treatment of <6" Diameter Breast Height (DBH) subalpine fir, which will allow for increased species diversity and age classes over time and will contribute to a healthier and more resilient forest type less prone to high severity wildfire.
