Demolition and renovation of a library in Mount Prospect, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade library.

This project consists of interior renovation to the second floor of the existing building to include a new space plan with several new rooms, new flooring, new lighting, new study rooms, new V/D/E/AV, and new furniture. Work may be described generally as demolition, general trades, metal stud framing and drywall, painting, acoustical ceilings, flooring, fire protection, HVAC, and electrical. Bids shall be submitted on or before the specified closing time in an opaque sealed envelope marked with the project and bid package number. All bids offered must be accompanied by a bid bond or cashier's check in an amount not less than ten percent of the aggregate of the base bid and all alternates, made payable to the owner as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into and the performance of the contract is properly secured. Bidders must furnish evidence satisfactory to the Board of Library Trustees that they have the necessary facilities, abilities, experience, equipment, and financial and physical resources to fulfill the conditions of the contract and execute the work. Successful bidders will be required to provide performance and labor and material bonds, each equal to one hundred percent of the bid amount, as well as sufficient insurance. The project is subject to the State of Illinois prevailing wage requirements for Cook County, IL. Additional bidder requirements are included in the bidding documents. Bidders must examine the bid documents, existing conditions, and location, and judge for themselves all the circumstances and surrounding conditions affecting the cost and nature of the work. The owner reserves the right to accept any base bid or alternate bids, reject any and all bids, award contracts based upon its investigation of bidders and in its best interests, and waive any informalities or minor irregularities in bids or the bidding procedure. The owner reserves the right to amend the bid documents, including the plans and specifications, scope of work notes, and supplemental conditions, at any time prior to bid opening.
