Site work and new construction of a playground / park / athletic field in Santa Cruz, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a one-story above grade playground / park / athletic field.
Sealed bids will be received for the award of a contract to construct the Santa Cruz High School Football Scoreboard as per the Contract Documents, including drawings and specifications, which may be obtained electronically from the Architect. The lowest bid shall be determined on the amount of the base bid. Contractors and subcontractors must be currently registered and qualified under Labor Code section 1725.5 to perform public work and must provide proof of registration. The contract time is one hundred (100) calendar days, and liquidated damages for delay shall accrue. Bids must be accompanied by a bidder's bond, cashier's check, or certified check for at least ten percent (10%) of the amount of the base bid and made payable to the Owner. The successful bidder is required to furnish a Payment (Labor and Material) Bond and a Faithful Performance Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum. The successful bidder may substitute securities or establish an escrow in lieu of retainage, as described in the Agreement and General Conditions. Only contractors licensed to do business in the State of California with a Class "A or B" license at the time of award will be accepted. The bidder must state the public works contractor registration number of each subcontractor performing more than one-half of one percent of the bidder's total bid. The prevailing wage must be paid according to the rates specified by the Director of Industrial Relations of the State of California.
