Torrington Board of Education is seeking a request for quote (RFQ) for snow removal. All bidders must attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting. The entire bid packet must be returned, with each page initialed, to show understanding of all requirements of the bid document. Only bidders who attend the meeting will be allowed to submit a quote. All instructions for bidding will be disclosed via email upon request. Bids must be submitted sealed and marked appropriately to the specified address, where they will be opened and read aloud. The Torrington Board of Education does not discriminate based on any protected class status. Item 1: Four informational only drone images of the 50 Major Besse Drive complex have been added to the RFP. Bidders are responsible for the snow removal from all driveways, access roads and parking lots as originally stated in the bid package. The Torrington Board of Education is seeking sealed proposals for comprehensive snow removal services for six school properties and one municipal lot for the seasons beginning November 1, 2025, through April 15, 2026, with the option to renew for up to five total years. Scope of Work Snow removal from all driveways, access roads, and parking lots at the following locations: Torrington High School/Middle School/Central Administration (50 Major Besses Drive) Torringford School (800 Charles Street) Fast Academy School (500 Migeon Ave) Torrington Intermediate School (295 East Pearl Road/200 Middle School Drive) Southwest School (340 Litchfield Street) Vogel Wetmore School (68 Church Street) and the municipal lot on Mason Street Salting of driveways, roads, and lots to ensure safety, especially in freezing conditions Relocation of snow/ice as determined necessary by Board authorities (costs borne by contractor) Addressing frozen runoff issues as needed Accommodating regular school hours, delayed openings, early dismissals, and after-hour/weekend events All roads/lots must be cleared before school opening times Compliance with Board decisions for snow-related scheduling
