Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Auburn, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade playground / park / athletic field.
The project consists of enlarging the existing restrooms to double the current capacity and conducting repairs on the old plumbing as well as making additional improvements to the concessions stand. The work must be completed in all respects within 180 days from the commencement of contract times. Sealed bids will be received at the Office of the City Manager. Each bid must include a guarantee of at least five percent (not to exceed $10,000) of the amount bid in the form of a certified or cashier's check or bid bond payable to the City. Upon award, performance and labor/materials bonds, each in the amount of 100% of the contract price, will be required. Documentation of state contractor's licensing and enrollment in E-Verify must be included with the bid. The contractor is responsible for acquiring all business licenses and permits per local ordinances and codes. All bidders must comply with E-Verify and no-boycott clauses, and either certify compliance with the Act against boycotts or offer goods/services for at least 20% less than compliant bidders. Equal opportunity for small, minority, and women-owned businesses is required. US-sourced materials must be used where available at reasonable prices, and any use of non-US products must be pre-approved. The City will be named as additional insured on the required insurance policies. Contractors must submit all required certificates of insurance, and subcontractors must carry equal or greater coverage. Only one partial payment request per month will be processed, using the City's required form. The City of Auburn reserves the right to select the lowest responsible bidder, reject any or all bids, and waive any informalities.
