The City of Costa Mesa’s Public Works Department’s General Maintenance Division manages all staff facilities at various locations throughout the city. The City is seeking responses from qualified general contractors for miscellaneous minor construction and repair services as needed on a 24 hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week, and on-call basis. Costa Mesa will establish a list of approved contractors for select categories/trades. The list will include contractors qualified to perform the types of work covered by the scope. When a project is needed, a pre-qualified contractor from the appropriate list will be selected. There is no guarantee that any pre-qualified contractor will be selected to perform work. General On-Call Contractor Services are required for the City’s facilities and include, but are not limited to, as-needed minor construction and/or emergency repair services, such as general contractor services, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, locksmith, gate and door repair, and indoor painting. The RFP includes the following maintenance service categories as representative of the work solicited: • Minor Construction • Plumbing • Concrete and Masonry • Painting • Drywall • Carpentry • Electrical • Roofing Repair • Door Repair • Flooring • Asbestos and Mold Remediation • Board-up service Additionally, during declared emergencies, the Contractor shall provide and maintain services on a twenty-four-hour, seven-days per week basis, including holidays or as otherwise communicated to the contractor by the City designee. Bidders should provide a description of their area of expertise and be prepared for scheduled preventive maintenance work as required in addition to the routine and emergency services listed.
