Site work and asbestos abatement for a residential development in Alliance, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a residential development; and for asbestos abatement for a residential development.
The Alliance City Health Department is accepting bids for asbestos abatement of 6 residential structures. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Bidders shall carefully examine the specifications. Bidders shall satisfy themselves as to the sufficiency of the specifications and shall not, at any time after the submission of the bid, dispute or complain of such specifications or the directions explaining or interpreting them or assert that there is any misunderstanding with regard to the location and nature or amount of work to be performed. Any lack of familiarity of conditions at the site will not be considered as an excuse for failure of or delay in performance. LOCATION: 1219 S. Linden Parcel 101772 414 S. Freedom Parcel 110724 828 E. Summit Parcel 106044 620 N. Freedom Parcel 105468 143 W. Perry Parcel 112544 SCOPE: The Contractor is to perform the removal of all asbestos as described in the Asbestos Survey Report for the parcel/address included as a part of this bid package. The Contractor will provide liability insurance, State of Ohio certified and trained personnel to adequately perform the work, including the furnishing of all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary for and incidental to asbestos abatement and shall be done in strict accordance with all applicable laws, ordinances, and codes of the City of Alliance, the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and the Ohio Department of Health. The Contractor shall comply with all laws and building codes of the City of Alliance and fire prevention codes of the appropriate Fire Marshall. The Contractor shall use all proper precautions to protect persons from injury. The Contractor shall be held responsible for all damages and injuries. The Contractor shall indemnify the Alliance Health Department and City of Alliance for any loss or damage resulting from contractor's work or its agents or subcontractors. The Contractor shall adequately protect the work, adjacent property, and the public and he will be solely responsible for any damage and injuries resulting from the execution of the work covered under this contract. At all times once work has commenced at a site and until it is accepted by the Alliance City Health Department as completed, the Contractor shall be responsible for properly securing the property. The Contractor shall secure all necessary permits and licenses for the completion and execution of the work. The Contractor shall provide a minimum of $1,000,000.00 comprehensive public liability insurance policy and Workers Compensation as required by the State of Ohio. The Contractor shall be held entirely responsible for all equipment and appurtenances furnished by him in connection with his work until the date of final acceptance and special care shall be taken to protect all of it in such a manner as may be necessary. Precautions shall be exercised at all times for the protection of persons, including employees and property. The safety provisions of all applicable laws, building codes, fire prevention codes, etc. shall be observed. The Contractor is notified that while performing his duties as stated in the contract that the Alliance City Health Department and the City of Alliance will not be liable for any violations of asbestos removal work practices or notifications. All asbestos abatement work shall be performed in compliance with all EPA, OSHA and state regulations regarding asbestos removal and disposal. The Contractor is required to file the necessary notifications with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and to include the Demolition Contractor's information along with a potential demolition start and end date. Contractor will perform air monitoring each day of any asbestos removal operations and will load; manifest, transport and dispose of all ACM at an EPA licensed disposal facility. Contractor is required to provide copies of waste disposal records to the Alliance City Health Department. Any work subcontracted by the successful bidder must have prior written approval from the Alliance City Health Department before the subcontracted work is let.
