This project consists of the Contractor being responsible for the installation of one (1) Caterpillar Model D100-8 Generator Set and components, one (1) external 500-gallon Diesel Fuel Tank and components including Fuel Piping to Generator. The work will include the removal from the facility the existing Generator and Fuel Tank, all of which will become the property of the Contractor. The work may also include the demolition and reinstall of concrete masonry unit (CMU) wall (dependent on installation method(s) of Generator Set), concrete repairs and modifications to the Generator Pad and Fuel Tank Pad, installation of fuel piping, electrical conduits from building to fuel tank, and components and incidentals. Please consult the Site Application Engineer or the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for any questions concerning NFPA 110 genset installation compliance. The FKAA has already purchased the Caterpillar Model D100-8 Generator Set and the external 500-gallon Diesel Fuel Tank, all of which are to be delivered to the supplier. The Contractor shall provide all required coordination and equipment required for the delivery and installation of the new Generator Set and Fuel Tank upon Notice to Proceed from FKAA. he Contractor will not be responsible for electrical work required to connect the generator to the facility and the electrical to the fuel tank All work will be located at the Sigsbee Distribution Pumping Station Facility which is located on Sigsbee Road (Coordinates: 24.599518, -81.770526) and is north of the North Roosevelt Boulevard at Sigsbee Road intersection and prior to the Key West Naval Air Station Gate. Each proposal must be submitted on the prescribed form and accompanied by a copy of certified check or bid bond executed on the prescribed form, payable to the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority, in an amount not less than 5 percent of the amount bid. A copy of the certified check must be attached to the bid proposal The Contract, if awarded, will be awarded to the responsive and responsible bidder submitting the lowest single lump sum/unit cost price proposal, with consideration of any Alternate(s) accepted by the FKAA. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish the necessary additional bond(s) for the faithful performance of the Contract, as prescribed in the Contract Documents. All bid bonds, contract bonds, insurance contracts, and certificates of insurance shall be either executed by or countersigned by a licensed resident agent of the surety or insurance company having his place of business in the State of Florida, and in all ways complying with the insurance laws of the State of Florida. Further, the said surety or insurance company shall be duly licensed and qualified to do business in the State of Florida. In order to perform public work, the successful Bidder shall hold or obtain such Contractors' and Business Licenses as required by State Statutes. Firms are hereby placed on formal notice that neither the FKAA Board of Directors, nor any employees of the FKAA are to be lobbied either individually or collectively concerning this project. The FKAA reserves the right to reject all Proposals where the FKAA deems rejection to be in its best interest, or to reject any Proposal not in compliance with the Contract Documents. The FKAA reserves the right to waive any informalities and irregularities in said Proposals.
