Project No. 24-13875, 23.28, ICE25034 The City of Hawthorne is seeking sealed bids from any qualified person, company, or corporation to provide construction services for a new local food bank. The scope includes construction of a 14,664 square foot building, land preparation, construction of a parking area, stormwater facilities, and the construction and installation of utilities. This project is federally funded through the Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) via the U.S. Department of Urban Development and the State of Florida Department of Commerce. Plans and specifications are available electronically at no cost from the project's registered architect or in printed form for a fee. All inquiries should be directed to the contact provided for the registered architect. The completion date for the project is 180 days from the Notice to Proceed. Failure to complete by the deadline will result in $1,000 per day in liquidated damages. Bids must be clearly marked as sealed and received at the specified location before the deadline. Bids will be opened publicly and the contract awarded to the lowest, most responsive and responsible bidder. Federal, state, and local contracting laws and regulations--such as Davis-Bacon, Anti-Kickback, Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act, and Section 3--apply. All relevant licensing, registration, and regulatory compliance is required. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Bids shall remain firm for 60 days after opening. Vendors must comply with statutory requirements regarding public entity crimes. The City is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer and a Fair Housing and Section 3 Advocate.
