Site work and new construction of a warehouse / distribution facility in Arcadia, Florida. Working plans call for the construction of a 2,000-square-foot, one-story above grade warehouse / distribution facility.
As of December 30, 2025, project has been cancelled. No definite date for the rebid. DeSoto County seeks a qualified Design-Build (DB) team to design, engineer, and construct a pre-engineered metal storage building at 2250 NE Roan Street, Arcadia, FL. The building will serve as a dry storage facility and must meet the requirements outlined in the Design Criteria Package. The DB team shall provide a fully functioning pre-engineered metal storage building, including all engineering, materials, and construction services. All work must comply with the 2023 Florida Building Code (8th Edition) and other applicable jurisdictional codes. The DB team is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits, including the DeSoto County Building Permit. Permit fees will be paid by DeSoto County. The DB team shall coordinate with DeSoto County for reviews and approvals at all stages of the project. The structure shall include a pre-engineered metal truss roof system and meet wind load requirements per the Florida Building Code. The DB team shall design the foundation, including engineered footings and soil requirements. The design phase shall be completed within 2 months of the Notice to Proceed. Structure external work includes installing 26-gauge Galvalume Plus panels for the roof, factory-finished ribbed metal panels for the walls, one solid-core fiberglass pedestrian door with security hinges and a fixed metal awning, and two metal rolling coil overhead garage doors. The floor is a 6-inch-thick concrete slab-on-grade designed for vehicular loading. There are no interior walls. Additional work includes constructing a 60-foot-long, 25-foot-wide asphalt driveway with 25-foot radii, specified pavement layers, and a walkway connecting the pedestrian door to the driveway. A single solar-powered exterior light fixture is to be installed at the pedestrian door. All materials and products must be approved by DeSoto County prior to ordering, with shop drawings and product cut sheets to be submitted for review. Provide color charts for all exterior components for County selection. The DB team shall repair or replace any property damaged during construction at their expense and secure all work areas to ensure safety. Standard manufacturer warranties for all products are required, with a minimum 20-year warranty for the roof system. At project completion, provide two binders or a PDF copy of all Operations and Maintenance Manuals and warranty information. The project schedule includes a 2-month design phase from Notice to Proceed and a 6-month construction phase from design completion. The DB team shall assign an on-duty supervisor who speaks and reads English, prohibit tobacco use on County property except in designated areas, and is responsible for daily disposal of waste materials off-site in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. All bidders must adhere to the requirements and specifications detailed above. END OF SCOPE OF WORK.
