Demolition, site work, paving and asbestos abatement for a mixed-use development in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for site work for a municipal facility; road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; and for asbestos abatement for a municipal facility.
This project is being let using the single prime bidding and contracting process. DFD will publicly bid the applicable mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP) divisions of work first. Within 5 days of the MEP bid opening, DFD will identify a lowest, qualified, responsible, certified bidder in each applicable MEP division of work. These successful MEP bids must be included in all general prime contractor bids received. No later than 5 days after DFD identifies the successful MEP bids, DFD will publicly open general prime contractor bids. General prime contractor bids that do not include the successful MEP bids will be rejected. The state will enter into a single contract with the lowest, qualified, responsible, certified general prime contractor and this general prime contractor will enter into subcontracts with the successful MEP bidders. If a project does not include any mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or fire protection divisions of work, DFD will bid one bid package for all work to general prime contractors. In general, the work consists of: Demolition of four buildings (Cottages 2, 3, 5 and the Administration Building), disconnection of existing utilities, demolition of roadways, demolition of site utilities, and restoration, including building fill, grading, roadway modificatons, curb and gutter, asphalt pathway, lawn seeding, and trees. This project involves the removal of all RACM (Regulated Asbestos Containing Material) fromCottages 2, 3, 5, and Admin prior to demolition. The following is a summary of the required RACM removal prior to demolition: 1. Remove all asbestos containing pipe insulation and pipe fitting insulation. 2. Remove all asbestos containing fire doors. 3. Remove all asbestos containing HVAC vibration dampeners. 4. Remove all damaged/friable asbestos containing floor tile and adhesive. \ 5. Remove all asbestos containing window glazing compound. 6. Remove all asbestos containing caulk for windows and doors. 7. Remove all sinks with asbestos containing coatings. 8. Remove all asbestos containing transite boards. 9. Remove all asbestos containing texture on plaster walls. 10. After the buildings are de-energized, investigate all electrical equipment for any asbestos containing components. Remove any electrical components that are suspect to contain asbestos. Bid Guarantee in the amount of 10% of the Bid must accompany each bid submitted. Event bid note: US Mail or Third-party delivery (UPS, Fedex, or DHL) to State of Wisconsin, Administration Building, 7th Floor, 101 East Wilson Street, Madison, Wisconsin 53703; or Hand delivery to the drop box labeled SEALED BIDS ONLY in front of the State of Wisconsin Administration Building located at 101 East Wilson Street, Madison, Wisconsin 53703. Event pre-bid note: Roof damage and floor damage have been observed, as well as exterior brick failure. Contractors are at their own risk during site visit and walk throughs. MBE (2%), WBE (12%) Question Deadline 11/28/2025 No verbal explanation or instructions will be given in regard to the meaning of the drawings or specifications during the bid period. Bidders shall bring inadequacies, omissions or conflicts to the Architect/Engineer's attention at least ten (10) days before bidding commences.
