Lewis Central Community School District seeks bids for the replacement of four existing rooftop units, one rooftop air handling unit, and associated controls at the High School. Commissioning will be directly contracted by the District with a third party, and the mechanical contractor must cooperate with the Commissioning Authority for all commissioning activities. Bids must be prepared on the attached bid form, with all required information provided, and submitted in a sealed opaque envelope marked with the bid name and the submission deadline. The bid must include a bid bond and all attachments required by the bid documents. Email, facsimile, or telephone bids are not accepted. Any incomplete bid or any bid not complying with the bidding documents may be rejected. Any bid received after the deadline will be rejected and returned unopened. The official clock for bid submission deadlines is maintained in the Service Center. A certified check payable to the Lewis Central Community School District Board of Education or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and acceptable sureties, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid, shall be submitted with each bid. This bid security will be retained as liquidated damages if the successful bidder fails to furnish the required performance bond, insurance certificate, or sign the contract within ten days after notification of award. Without the bid security, the bid will not be considered. Bidders are highly encouraged to attend a pre-bid conference at the main entrance of Lewis Central High School at the specified date and time to familiarize themselves with site conditions. Each sheet of the bid proposal must be signed and dated as indicated. Bids will be opened and read in public at the specified location following the close of bidding. Notes may be taken at the public reading or a personal inspection made after award and placement in central files. Prior to bid opening, bidders may modify or withdraw their bids by written notice. The School District reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids or parts thereof and to waive any technicalities and irregularities as deemed in the best interest of the District. The District may investigate bidder qualifications and request information or data for this purpose. The District may reject any bid if evidence or investigation does not satisfy qualification requirements. Conditional bids are not accepted.
