Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Rainelle, West Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade sidewalk / parking lot; and one-story above grade water / sewer project.
The project consists of upgrading the existing storm sewer drainage system in the Town of Rainelle to adequately contain a 10-year storm event. The work includes installing approximately 117 drainage inlets, 2,858 linear feet of 18-inch pipe, 5,632 linear feet of 24-inch pipe, 6,630 linear feet of 36-inch pipe, 1,017 linear feet of 42-inch pipe, and 380 linear feet of 48-inch pipe. It also includes upgrading the existing sidewalks on all DOH-owned roads to DOH standards, 7,000 square feet of asphalt trench repair, 308,000 square feet of street pavement, and other miscellaneous items. Bids are requested for the contract covering these storm sewer line upgrades. The work must be substantially completed within 365 calendar days after the contract commences and completed and ready for final payment within 60 days after that. Liquidated damages are set at $2,000 per day.
