The work includes but is not necessarily limited to furnishing, hauling, placing, compacting, and grading of material; preparing subgrade for Portland cement concrete (PCC) and hot mix asphalt (HMA); furnishing and constructing ADA compliant PCC sidewalk, curb ramps, curb, curb & gutter, spandrel, cross gutter, and appurtenant work to match existing; grinding PCC improvements; installing detectable warning surface tiles on PCC improvements; sawcutting, removals, and disposal; finish grading; clean-up and related work as required, to complete the work as specified by the Special Provisions, including plan exhibits, the Standard Plans and Specifications For Public Works Construction ("Greenbook") 2024 edition, and the City Standard Requirements. Proposals are required for the entire work described. Proposals will not be considered unless they are made on the proposal forms furnished. Attention to prospective bidders is called to Section 2, "Proposal Requirements and Conditions" for full direction as to bidding. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or make the award to the lowest responsible bidder. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal unless registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations. Each proposal must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or bidder's bond for an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the amount bid. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A or C-8 License at the time of award.
