The project is for the reconstruction of Old US-42 and includes all material, labor, equipment, and installation required to complete all project elements. Bidders must submit sealed bids with either a cashier's check or bid bond for at least five percent of the total bid amount. The successful bidder will be required to provide construction contract security of not less than one hundred percent of the bid amount. All bids must be made on the required Bid Form, with two completed copies submitted. Bidders must purchase bid documents from Viox & Viox, Inc. to qualify as registered bidders, and no substitution of contractors or change of registration is allowed. Pre-qualification requirements: Contractors must be pre-qualified with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) and are responsible for all construction safety practices, including the complete maintenance and implementation of traffic plans. NOTE: Contractor/Subcontractors performing the following work must be on the KYTC Prequalified Contractors List for the appropriate work item codes at the time of bidding. Please include any subcontractors performing the following work in the list of subcontractors located in the bid packet. If a subcontractor is not listed for a work item code, then the bidding Contractor should be prequalified for that code. Contractor / Subcontractors will be responsible for all construction safety practices, complete maintenance of traffic plans & implementation. 1. All Asphalt Paving work on the project: C-1 2. All Concrete Curbs on the project: I-11, A, or B 3. All Concrete Sidewalks on the project: I-12, A, or B 4. All Pavement Striping on the project: I-31 5. All Traffic Signal work: I-30 6. Maintenance and Control of Traffic within/affecting KYTC Right of Way: I-37 7. Storm Sewers adjacent to US-42 (to be connected to the KYTC storm system): I-24 or A 8. Embankment in Place on the project: J-60 or A NOTE: Construction cannot begin until after December 15, 2025. Milestone #1 (as defined on sheet C-010) must be completed by July 15, 2026. The remainder of the project must be substantially completed by October 1, 2026. All construction and invoicing associated with this project must be completed by November 1, 2026.
