The University of California, Irvine seeks to hire a Contractor to perform structured cabling and infrastructure installation delivered by Job Order Contract. The work includes all labor, materials, equipment, technical expertise, supervision, and management to install horizontal structured cabling systems to support wireless access points, high-speed user connections, and security systems for access control and video surveillance. Additional scope includes providing necessary pathways, raceways, and cable support systems, building out IDF rooms with the required overhead racking and equipment racks, installing ISP/OSP fiber optic, copper backbone, and riser infrastructure, installing telecommunications systems grounding, and installing electrical breakers, branch circuits, and receptacles to support IDF room network equipment. Procedures for bid participation include submitting electronically available prequalification questionnaires. All proposers must comply with proposal conditions, performance and payment bonds, insurance, prevailing wage, and compliance monitoring requirements. Bidders must use specified JOC software for schedule of values and related documentation. Pre-qualification requirements: Contractors must hold Electrical C-10 and Low Voltage Systems C-7 contractor licenses. Contractors must have completed at least three job order contracts or other relevant projects in the past five years in the State of California, for university, commercial, industrial, or government campuses, and involving structured cabling, IDF room build-outs, ISP/OSP infrastructure, telecommunications grounding, and installation in occupied facilities. A proposal security of $25,000 is required. Bidders must provide 100% payment and performance bonds, meet all insurance requirements, comply with prevailing wage, equal employment and nondiscrimination requirements, register with the Department of Industrial Relations, and demonstrate a commitment to SBE and DVBE participation. The contractor must execute the end-user license agreement for the required JOC software application.
