Bids must be accompanied by a bidder's bond , cashier's check, or certified check for at least ten percent (10%) of the amount of the base bid and made payable to the Owner. If a bid bond is used, it must be issued by an Admitted Surety (an insurance organization authorized by the Insurance commissioner to transact surety insurance in the State of California during this calendar year), which shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract if awarded the work and will be declared forfeited, paid to, or retained by the Owner as liquidated damages if the bidder refuses or neglects to enter into the contract provided by the Owner after being requested to do so. Question Deadline 12/03/2025 at 5:00 PM PT Online Q&A The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment (Labor and Material) Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, and a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred per cent (100%) of the contract price, said bonds to be secured from an Admitted Surety (an insurance organization authorized by the Insurance Commissioner to transact business of insurance in the State of California during this calendar year), and satisfactory to the Owner. Prohibition on Chemical Solvents for Flooring Removal: The District hereby clarifies that the use of any chemical or solvent-based products for the removal of flooring materials, adhesives, or mastics is strictly prohibited, including but not limited to low-odor solvents. Flooring and adhesive removal shall be performed using mechanical methods and wet methods only. No chemical stripping agents or solvents of any kind shall be permitted on this project. o Substrate Preparation: Substrate must be structurally sound, clean, level, and dry. Substrate must be free of dust, dirt, oil, grease, paint, curing agents, concrete sealers, adhesives, loosely bonded toppings, loose particles, and any other substance or condition that may prevent or reduce adhesion. The use of chemical or solvent-based products for the removal of flooring materials or adhesive residues is strictly prohibited. Only mechanical removal methods and wet methods are permitted. o Flooring Materials in Asbestos-Containing Areas: This communication serves as a clarification regarding the removal of flooring materials located within areas that contain asbestos-containing material (ACM). Any flooring materials that have tested non-asbestos containing, but are located within the same work area as asbestoscontaining materials, shall be removed as part of the Contractor's scope of work and shall be coordinated in compliance with all applicable abatement containment, safety, and regulatory requirements. All costs associated with this work shall be included in the Contractor's bid. o Building 010 - 9,318 square feet of total material to be removed o Building 020 - 4,838 square feet of total material to be removed o Building 030 - 8,195 square feet of total material to be removed The District reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive irregularities or informalities in any submission or in the solicitation process. Proposals shall be valid for a period of ninety (90) days. The Owner reserves the right to waive any irregularity and to reject any or all bids. Unless otherwise required by law, no bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of sixty (60) days after date set for the opening thereof.
