Installation of District-Provided Flooring at Adam Elementary School Any electronic proposal in progress and not submitted by the closing date and time will be rejected by Online. SUMMARY This Section includes all labor, incidentals, materials, equipment, operations, or methods listed, mentioned, or scheduled, required to complete work under this Section to install District-provided Shaw flooring at Adam Elementary. QUALITY ASSURANCE The installer must only use District-provided Shaw material and adhesive. For warranty purposes, a Shaw representative will periodically be on-site to ensure that the flooring is being installed according to the manufacturer's specifications. Contractor shall perform moisture testing of all concrete substrates in accordance with ASTM F2170 (in-situ relative humidity test) or ASTM F1869 (calcium chloride test), as applicable. Testing shall be conducted at all locations where resilient or other moisturesensitive flooring materials are to be installed. Results shall be documented and submitted for review before installation. The installer shall have 3 years of flooring installation experience in a similar environment, utilizing similar flooring material. INSTALLATION The contractor shall remove all existing flooring and prep the surface for installing new flooring. Floor preparation shall include, but is not limited to, high and low spots, joint preparation, and underlayment for portable classrooms. All thresholds will be removed and then reinstalled by the contractor. Flooring material will go around all built-ins and undersink areas. The contractor is also responsible for installing black, 6" baseboard (district provided with an adhesive). Carpets will be installed in all areas of the room except where specified. All doors will have a walk-off floor unless noted on maps. When removing the baseboard, you must score it from the wall before pulling it off. All seam diagrams are the responsibility of the Contractor. Install materials in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions ( attached), and to Comply with governing regulations and SMBSD standards applicable to work. All rooms will have furniture in half the room. Once half the room is finished, we will have a District team move over so the second half can be completed. DELIVERY, STORAGE, HANDLING, and DISPOSAL District-provided materials will either be stored onsite or may be stored at a local storage facility. The contractor will be responsible for moving materials as needed to complete the project. . The contractor shall provide a trash dumpster on-site to collect all project-related trash and debris. The work area shall be kept clean at the end of each workday, and the dumpster is to be removed at the completion of the project. Asbestos Abatement (Under Separate Contract) Drawings of areas requiring abatement are included for informational purposes. All abatement work will be performed under a separate contract. Buildings 010, 020, and 030 will be abated before the flooring is installed. DISTRICT PROVIDED MATERIALS Carpet - Breathe Tile, Agreeable Navy, 24 X 24- (quarter-turned) must use Shaw - 4151 Question Deadline 01/07/2026 at 5:00 PM PT All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed in to the District through PlanetBids. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the District in response to such questions will be issued through PlanetBids. Questions must be received by the "last day for questions date" as established and posted on PlanetBids. Only answers to Bidders' questions that have been posted on PlanetBids by the District by means of formal written Addenda from the District will be valid and binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect Pressure Sensitive Tile Adhesive 6" Rubber Base (Black) with toe must use Shaw wall base adhesive tube Walk-off- Divvy Tile Ecoworx- 24 X 24, Stride, must use Shaw 4151 Pressure Sensitive Tile Adhesive Joy Squared LVT 24" x 24" 20 mil, Tire Swing- must use Shaw- 4151 Pressure Sensitive Resilient Adhesive Vitality Tones Sheet Vinyl 6' (must be shelf coved and all seams heat-welded) must use Shaw adhesive All sundry items, including but not limited to concrete patch, Kleen sweep, reducers, contact, underlayment, cement, or any other material not included in the above list that may be required to complete the project, are the Contractor's responsibility to provide. INSPECTION The contractor shall verify all dimensions to ensure the proper installation of materials. The contractor shall be responsible for examining and accepting all surfaces and conditions before the installation. All questions regarding this solicitation shall be directed through Online utilizing the Q&A tab. The District reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive irregularities or informalities in any submission or in the solicitation process. Proposals shall be valid for a period of ninety (90) days. The District reserves the right to host a second job walk at a later date. In the event that a second walk is scheduled, bidders will only be required to have attended one of the mandatory walks. Bids must be accompanied by a bidder's bond , cashier's check, or certified check for at least ten percent (10%) of the amount of the base bid and made payable to the Owner. If a bid bond is used, it must be issued by an Admitted Surety (an insurance organization authorized by the Insurance commissioner to transact surety insurance in the State of California during this calendar year), which shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract if awarded the work and will be declared forfeited, paid to, or retained by the Owner as liquidated damages if the bidder refuses or neglects to enter into the contract provided by the Owner after being requested to do so. The Contractor shall be required to satisfy the conditions set forth in the contract and Education Code section 45125.2 regarding fingerprinting requirements and student safety prior to permitting any contact with students. Upon award of the contract and before beginning work, the Contractor shall be required to provide a verification of compliance with the student safety provisions of the contract and Education Code section 45125.2. This requirement may be waived if work is performed outside of school hours when students are not present or if district staff will be present throughout the project. The Owner will not consider or accept any bids from contractors who are not licensed to do business in the State of California, in accordance with the California Public Contract Code, providing for the licensing of contractors. In accordance with Section 3300 of said Code, for Bid No. 5416, the Contractor shall have a Class "C-22" license and/or other applicable license and for Bid No. 5421, the Contractor shall have a Class "C-15" license and/or other applicable license. Upon award of the bid, required signature on the enclosed declaration to ensure compliance with the General Conditions and the Education Code. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment (Labor and Material) Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, and a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, said bonds to be secured from an Admitted Surety (an insurance organization authorized by the Insurance Commissioner to transact business of insurance in the State of California during this calendar year), and satisfactory to the Owner. The successful bidder will be allowed to substitute securities or establish an escrow in lieu of retainage, pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 22300, and as described in the General Conditions. The Director of the Department of Industrial Relations of the State of California, in the manner provided by law, has ascertained the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and rate for legal holidays and overtime work as set forth in Article VIII of the Agreement. The Contractor must pay for any labor therein described or classified in an amount not less than the rates specified. Copies of the required rates are on file at the Owner's business office and are available to any interest party on request. This project is subject to Senate Bill 854, which was signed into law June 20, 2014, it established a public works contractor registration program which will collect fees to fund compliance monitoring and enforcement, determine prevailing wage and public works coverage, and hear enforcement appeals. All Contractors and Subcontractors must be registered with the DIR prior to the date and time bids are scheduled to be opened.
