Description

Renovation of a detention facility in Shelton, Washington. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.

This Request for Qualifications is for the purpose of selecting an Engineer for Design Services for theWCC Fire Alarm Systems Stabilization project located at Shelton, WA. This scope of work includes the following phases of design: Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Bidding, Construction Administration and Closeout. Washington Corrections Center had a previously completed project that added to the Notifier Fire Alarm system, however due to funding the previous project left out some buildings at the facility and did not update the devices or electrical panels. There was a Statewide Assessment since the completion of this project that identified each prison needs for fire alarm stabilization and WCC was considered the highest priority in the predesign completed by KMB architects, inc. p.s. and Hargis Engineers. The recommendations were as follows: • The existing Notifier fire alarm system should be expanded within every building with additional control panels in the buildings that still lack them. • All buildings should get new detection devices, notification devices, and wiring to provide a complete, networked, addressable fire alarm system throughout the facility meeting current code.
