Firm prime contractor bids are requested for mechanical work, electrical work, plumbing, site work, and architectural trades to facilitate the renovation of Western High School. Each proposal must be submitted in duplicate on the forms furnished by the architect and must be completed in full. The proposal must be sealed in an opaque envelope and marked with the name of the bidder and the project name, and addressed as specified. Bids must be delivered by the date and time specified or submitted electronically, and late bid proposals will not be considered. A bid bond executed by a Treasury listed surety company acceptable to the Walled Lake Consolidated School District or a cashier's check in the amount of at least 5% of the sum of the proposal shall be submitted with each proposal over $31,321. Cashier’s checks for electronic submissions must be delivered prior to the bid opening. All proposals must remain firm for sixty (60) days. Successful bidders whose proposals are $50,000 or more must furnish a satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond by a Treasury listed surety in the amount of 100% of their bid, with the bond cost included in the proposal. Bids must be accompanied by sworn and notarized statements disclosing any familial relationships between the owner or employees of the bidder and board members or the superintendent, as well as affidavits of compliance for the Iran Economic Sanctions Act, criminal background checks, and Prevailing Wage (LEO) Registration. Bids not accompanied by these documents will not be accepted. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids in whole or in part, to waive any informality or irregularity, or to award the contract to other than the low bidder, in its sole discretion. The right is reserved to accept the bid that is in the best interest of the Owner.
