Description: This project will be for locating, uncovering and verifying the depths of private and public utilities and infrastructure within the 1st Avenue North corridor between 3rd St N and University Dr N. Purpose The information gathered from this project will be used to assist in creating utility conflict plans and assist with the design of proposed City infrastructure for an upcoming street reconstruction project BR-27-E On 1st Avenue N between 3rd Street N and University Drive Substantial Completion Date: July 1, 2026 ; Final Completion Date: July 15, 2026 The estimated cost of construction is $178,000.00 This project involves utility exploration. The Contractor will be responsible for locating and excavating to expose existing utilities, as well as coordinating with the City to allow for survey of exposed utilities. Depth Checks shall be completed at a rate of approximately two (2) borings per utility per block, with one (1) boring at each corner of underground vaults. The Contractor shall also assist the Project Manager in determining the actual size and depth of utility vaults within the project corridor. The Contractor will determine boring locations based on field markings. In cases where utilities are difficult to locate, the respective utility companies may aid in locating their respective utilities. The Contractor shall coordinate all correspondence directly with the utility companies. Additional borings may be required at the direction of the Engineer depending on utility alignments. Upon completion of each boring and exposure of the utility, the Contractor shall coordinate with the Engineer so the City can collect survey data of the exposed utilities prior to restoration. The Utility Location Verification project may change in size if complex utility routes or additional structures are identified from locates. A change in project size and quantity shall have no effect on bid prices. Each exploration location will be paid by (Bid Item) EA. See Sib Note #7 for further details.
