Site work and paving for a civil project in Hegins, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; and road / highway.

This project will include the rehabilitation of the existing bridge and corresponding roadway rehabilitation. Work will include the replacement of the existing superstructure and minor modifications to the substructure. The particular items of work for the contract are identified more specifically in the Bid Form, Contract Specifications and Contract Documents. The entire project will be awarded to one (1) Contractor. Contractor and all subcontractors are to be PennDOT prequalified. All Questions due by 12:00 PM (Noon) November 25, 2024 A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of Barry Township, negotiable US Government Bonds (at par value), or satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and acceptable surety in the amount of 10% of the Total Bid of construction shall be submitted with each bid. THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDERS will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price with a corporate surety approved by the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the Owner for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of opening bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders, prior to awarding the contract. However, the award of the contracts may be delayed by required approval of another government agency or closing on the project funding loans. Owner shall reject all bids or award to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder within 120 days of the bid opening. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Estimated Contract Value: $325 - $350K A. Place guide rail with end treatment as indicated on the Contract Drawings. B. Place post mounted signs, Type B as indicated on the Contract Drawings C. Remove post mounted signs as required. A. This work shall consist of temporary control measures as ordered by the County Conservation District (hereinafter referred to as Regulatory Agency), during the life of the contract to control water pollution, through the use of berms, dikes, dams, sedimentation, basins, jute matting, soil retention blankets, gravel, mulches, grasses, slope drains, trench plugs and other erosion control devices or methods. B. The temporary pollution control provisions contained herein shall be coordinated with the permanent erosion control features specified elsewhere in the contract to the extent practical to assure economical, effective and continuous erosion control throughout the construction and post-construction period. C. Temporary pollution control may include construction work outside the right-of-way where such work is necessary as a result of construction such as borrow pit operations, haul roads and equipment storage sites. D. Erosion control shall be in accordance with the contract drawings, plan narrative, details and specifications contained herein. E. Soil samples as necessary must be taken. The analysis must be provided to the Engineer providing the recommended seeding and soil supplements. A minimum of one (1) sample must be taken. A. All items of work necessary to provide traffic control throughout the duration of the project as shown on the Contract Drawings and in accordance with Section 015526 and PennDOT Publication 408/2020 Section 901. This work may include flagging and pilot car operation for guidance of traffic through the temporary traffic control zone and dust control. All items to maintain driveway access to adjacent property owners and local business which includes signage, paving, and temporary barrier. All work shall be done as specified in PennDOT Publication 408 - Specifications, PennDOT Publication 212 - Official Traffic Control Devices, PennDOT Publication 213 - Temporary Traffic Control Guidelines, and the MUTCD, the special Provisions, PennDOT Standard Drawings, the approved Traffic Control Detour Plans (TCP), and as directed.
