Question Deadline 11/26/2025 Asbestos Abatement - Office BuildingSUMMARY A. Furnish all labor, equipment, materials, and services necessary to remove, transport and dispose of asbestos containing materials at the Former Office Building and Adjoining Storage Garage at 120 Main Street in Medway, Massachusetts. B. Prior to the start of asbestos abatement, the site must be completely fenced with locked gates to prevent unauthorized access. The site shall remain fenced with gates locked until completion of the contract. The Contractor shall allow access to the Town of Medway and its engineers and consultants. C. It is the intent of this contract to remove asbestos containing materials to allow for demolition of the building. The identified asbestos containing materials and approximate quantities at the Former Office Building and Adjoining Storage Garage are included in Table 02 82 13-1 on Page 3 of this specification. D. The work of this Section must be coordinated with the work of Section 02 81 00 Transportation and Disposal of Hazardous Materials, 02 83 13 Lead Safe Work Practices and other applicable Sections. E. The Contractor shall have the opportunity to observe the building and the locations, quantity, and conditions of asbestos containing materials located in the building. The work of this section includes the removal of all materials from the building in order to allow for demolition of the building. F. Asbestos containing materials identified in this specification shall be removed in their entirety. Quantities provided in Table 02 82 13-1 are estimates only. The Contractor shall include complete removal of asbestos containing materials in the lump sum bid, with the exception of asbestos containing damp proofing, for which a unit price shall be included in the Contractor's bid.
