Renovation of an educational facility in Ottawa, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 343,316-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility.

The work consists of replacement of HVAC Units serving the Kingman Gymnasium Area and replacement of HVAC Units serving the East Gymnasium Area. Additional work as indicated. The contract will be a single prime lump sum contract. Bidders are required to provide bid security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the Base Bid amount, in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or Bid Bond. Bid security must accompany the bid at time of submission. The successful bidder will be required to provide a satisfactory performance bond and labor & material payment bond covering the full performance of the contract, with costs to be included in the bid proposal. The successful bidder must assure nondiscrimination in all employment practices and provide documentation of participation in apprenticeship and training programs approved and registered with the United States Department of Labor's Bureau and Apprenticeship and Training. The bidder must comply with all provisions of applicable Illinois laws relating to wage rates, discrimination, sexual harassment, alcohol use, preference to Illinois workmen, fair employment practices, and equal employment opportunity, as well as the Substance Abuse Prevention on Public Works Act. The successful bidder shall pay no less than the prevailing wage rates as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor. All contractor bonds must guarantee performance relative to the prevailing wage clause. A criminal background investigation is required for all project employees-with no employment permitted if an incomplete or negative sexual misconduct investigation is revealed. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive any irregularities in the bidding, and award the contract in the Owner's best interests. The Owner is exempt from Illinois Use Tax Act and Retailer's Occupation Tax for this work. Prospective primary contractors and subcontractors are required to promptly notify Architect of any observed ambiguities, discrepancies and errors in the Bidding Documents and any inconsistencies between these documents and site and local conditions. B. Prospective bidders and sub-bidders requiring clarifications or interpretations of the Bidding Documents shall make requests for such as early in the bidding period as possible. C. Required interpretations, clarifications, corrections or modifications of the Bidding Documents will be made by Addendum. Such information provided in any other manner will not be binding upon the Architect or the Owner.
