Sealed bids are requested for the Chiller and Boiler Replacement at Morris Grade School. Lump Sum bid proposals will be accepted by the Board of Education at the designated Administrative Office location until the specified deadline, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Each bid must include a Bid Guarantee in the form of a Bid Bond, Certified Check or Bank Draft in an amount not less than ten percent of the bid, payable to the Board of Education. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty days after the opening without the Owner's consent. Checks or drafts of unsuccessful Bidders will be returned as soon as possible after the bids are checked. The successful Bidder is required to provide a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond in the full amount of the Contract. Bids must be submitted in an opaque, sealed envelope, clearly marked as 'SEALED BID' and addressed as specified. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, parts thereof, or waive irregularities or informalities. The contract is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. Each bidder must complete the qualification process described in Section 004395 - General Requirements, submitting qualification documents with their bid. These will be reviewed to determine the lowest responsible bidder. Bidding documents, including project manuals and drawings, plus all addenda, can be obtained electronically and reproduced at the bidder's expense. A mandatory pre-bid walk-through for Prime contractors will be held as scheduled, and subcontractors are encouraged but not required to attend. Attendance at this walk-through is required for contractors and will be recorded; non-attendance is grounds for bid rejection.
