Site work for a development in Tybee Island, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a development.

The City of Tybee Island seeks qualified bidders for the dredging and planting of native plants along the shoreline of the Jay Cee Park Lagoon as per the specifications and requirements as shown in Attachment #1. The clearing and removal of the existing landscaping and undergrowth will be performed by City forces prior to the start of construction. There is an existing disc golf course that surround the project area. Approximately 100,000 rounds of disc golf are played on the course annually, therefore the course will remain open during the dredging and planting operations. The red rubber walking path, as shown on the plans, will not support heavy equipment and CONTRACTOR shall cover path with a minimum of 12-inches of crushed aggregate base course at all locations they deem necessary to cross the path. The cost of furnishing and installing this crushed aggregate base course shall be included in the cost of the dredging. Any damage to the path will be the responsibility of the CONTRACTOR to fix at their cost. CONTRACTOR shall take care to avoid the concrete disc pad tee off areas shown ono the plan. The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for any damage to the tee pads and replace at their own cost. There are many large trees of various species that surround the lagoon and CONTRACTOR shall work around the trees to avoid damage. The City is currently working with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Environmental Protection Division in obtaining a Letter of Permission (LOP) for the dredging and planting required for this project. It is anticipated that this LOP will be obtained prior to the start of construction. The areas planned for dredging are listed in Work Unit "A" and shown on the Ditch Management Plan of Attachment #1. DREDGING: o Work covered under this section shall consist of furnishing all labor and equipment to dredge approximately a 2 feet depth of sediment by 20 feet wide along the centerline of the Jay Cee Park Lagoon as shown on Ditch Management Plan. o 867 Cubic Yards of dredging south of bridges o 600 Cubic Yards of dredging north of bridges (Alternate #1) o Work covered under this section shall also consist of furnishing all labor and equipment to dredge the peripheral areas to a width of approximately 9 feet along the edges of the Jay Cee Park Lagoon as shown on the Ditch Management Plan. o 390 Cubic Yards of dredging south of bridges o 380 Cubic Yards of dredging north of bridges (Alternate #1) o CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for the removal and disposal of all dredged materials. o CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for the installation of a construction access road to the lagoon. It shall consist of a 12-inch gravel roadway with a minimum width of 10-feet. The cost of this access road shall be included on the cost of the dredging. o CONTRACTOR shall furnish and install silt fence adjacent to the water or wetlands prior to any excavation work being performed. This cost for furnishing and installing the silt fence shall be included in the cost of the dredging. o Silt fence shall be a minimum of 16-inches high. o Silt fence shall be trenched a minimum of 4-inches with a minimum width of a 4-inch trench and backfilled with soil compacted over the fabric. o Silt fence shall have a maximum of a 10-foot spacing between stakes with a wire support fence or a 6-foot maximum spacing between posts when extra strength fabric is used. o Silt fence posts shall be buried a minimum of 12-inches in depth. o Continuous rolls of silt fence are preferred, but if splices are required they must be spliced at support posts and have a minimum of a 6-inch overlap. o Silt fence shall remain in place until the construction is complete and planting have taken root. The areas for planting are listed under Work Unit "B" and shown on the Planting and Site Management Plans of Attachment #1. PLANTING: o Work covered under this section shall consist of furnishing all labor and equipment to plant grasses, littoral plants, hardy beach perennials, soil amendments, and hardwood mulch as specified in the planting schedule. o Surplus material will become property of the CONTRACTOR and shall be picked up and disposed of by the CONTRACTOR. o Upon completion of the planting operations, the CONTRACTOR shall cleanup project area and dispose of all pots and plant containers. o CONTRACTOR shall furnish and install a 10-foot diameter steel ring around each of the nine (9) disc golf holes located throughout the park. After the installation of the steel ring, the CONTRACTOR shall fill each ring with a multi-color river rock to a minimum depth of 2-inches. The estimated quantities for each disc golf hole are 32 lineal feet of steel border ring and 0.5 cubic yards of multi-color river rock.
