In general, the work will consist of furnishing all materials for and completing the work required to replace the sewer piping from N796713.91 and E1695409.25 to N796551.98 and E1694591.57 including all new manholes and associated materials, work to bore and jack the new casing pipe under the main line tracks and all necessary pumping of the sewer flow during the appropriate construction periods. 5.1.1 Install, operate and remove sewage pumping equipment to pump around the construction when and where required. 5.1.2 Furnish and install a doghouse manhole at station 0+00, coordinates N796713.91 and E1695409.25 5.1.3 Excavate for and furnish and install new 15" DIP sewer piping from station 0+00 to station 5+06. Furnish and install SAN-02, 03 and 04 manholes along with 24" casing pipe as noted on the drawings. 5.1.4 Backfill the 15" DIP trench back to grade and compact as directed by the geotechnical engineer. 5.1.5 Excavate as required to construct a pit to bore and jack the piping under the main line railroad track. Excavate as required for a receiving pit on the north side of the track. 5.1.6 Bore and jack the new 24" steel casing pipe under the main line railroad track. 5.1.7 Install new 15" DIP in the 24" casing piping to the location of the SAN-05 manhole. 5.1.8 Excavate and install new 15" DIP from SAN-05 to the existing manhole at N796551.98 and E1694591.57. 5.1.9 Backfill and compact the trench and reestablish the grade in the buffer zone. Re-plant vegetation in accordance with High Point requirements. 5.1.10 Excavate for and install 4" PVC from the existing manhole adjacent to the building to the new manhole SAN-05. Backfill and compact as directed by the geotechnical engineer when complete. 5.1.11 After acceptance of the new work, pump flowable fill into the old piping in place. Demolish the tops of the old manholes and fill the remaining sections with gravel and a concrete cap. 5.1.12 Backfill the bore and jack pit and receiving pits to the original grade and compact as directed by the geotechnical engineer. 5.1.13 Fine grade and seed all disturbed areas to their original conditions. 5.1.14 If required, the Contractor shall repair and repave the existing entrance drive to its current condition.
