New construction of an educational facility in Rohnert Park, California. Working plans call for the construction of a 27,788-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility.
As of April 7, 2026, this project has not yet started construction and is still in permitting. A general contractor has been identified. A firm construction timeline has yet to be established. Otto Construction has been selected as the Design-Builder for the Nursing Expansion at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, CA. Otto Construction is seeking design-build trade partners for Mechanical/Plumbing, Electrical/Low Voltage, Fire Protection and Elevators. Only firms who submit this RFQ and are shortlisted will be allowed to respond to the RFP. This project will renovate the existing Nichols Hall to accommodate the Nursing program. Nichols Hall is anexisting three-story, steel-framed, 27,788 SF academic building that houses classrooms and staff offices for multiple academic programs. The renovation will include a completely new mechanical system (tied to the campus central plant), restroom upgrades, electrical and lighting upgrades, tele-data and AV upgrades specific for nursing program, modifications to the existing fire sprinkler system, and modifications to the existing elevator (likely a full replacement down to existing platform).
