Renovation of a parking garage in South Bend, Indiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade parking garage.
Work includes construction of an elevator replacement at the existing parking garage at the corner of Main Street and Wayne Street in South Bend, more particularly described in plans and specifications prepared by JQOL Quality of Life. Electronic bids must be submitted using the City of South Bend Contractor's Bid for Public Work Form, accompanied by an electronic copy of a Bid Bond or Certified Check in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid plus any alternates. The awarded bidder will be required to send the original check or bid bond via USPS. Each contractor must comply with "City of South Bend EEO Contracting Provision Diversity Utilization" included in the specifications as to each construction trade it intends to use on this contract and all other construction work in the St. Joseph County area during performance of this contract or subcontract. Bidders commit themselves to the goals for minority manpower and all other requirements, terms, and conditions of these bid conditions by submitting a properly sealed bid. Woman and Minority-Owned Business Enterprises are encouraged to respond. It is the sole responsibility of the bidder to comply with all submission requirements applicable to the bidder in Section 6-63 of the Responsible Bidder Ordinance no later than the date of public bid opening. The City reserves the right to request supplemental information from the bidder, and may also conduct random inquiries of the bidder's current and previous customers regardless of pre-qualified status. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to accept a full or partial award of the bid or bids which, in its judgment, will be to the best interests of the City of South Bend. If the Board elects to award the base bid plus any alternates, the Board will look at the totality of the cost when determining the lowest, responsive, and responsible bid. Any questions about bidding conditions must be addressed to the Owner in writing no later than 5pm on November 25, 2025. WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS A. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. Removal of existing elevator and installation of new elevators at the existing parking garage at the corner of Main Street and Wayne Street. B. Type of Contract: 1. Project will be constructed under a single Contract.2. Bid will consist of a Base Bid and an Alternate Bid.
